Our Goal

What does Data For Dems do?

In states where voter data is free, or relatively low cost, we determine what voters are likely students at a given college. We then share that data with College Democrats (or similar) in order to boost turn out.

Why?

Because we need every college student that supports Harris to vote!

Also, the most effective way to get someone to vote is to have their friends and families encourage them to do so. Our goal is give College Dems the tools to do this type of relational organizing.

Is the Data Free?

Yes. We will give College Democrats this data for free!

What’s The Process?

1. Submit the form on the landing page with your published College Dems organizational email

2. We’ll shoot you and email asking you affirm you will use the data in a responsible manner

3. We’ll share a private google spreadsheet with the data for your school.

4. As the election gets closer, we will update the data with voter statuses to help you focus your efforts.

What Is Your Ask?

We ask groups three things:

1. Review and agree to the relevant affirmation statement - We downloaded this data from each state government. To do so, we affirmed that we would use the data in a manner that is consistent with state law. Since we are sharing this data, we ask all groups to affirm that they will abide by these same laws.

   1. For example in Pennsylvania, we must affirm that we won’t publish the data on the internet or use the data for anything except politics.

2. Be a good steward of this data - It has names, phone numbers, and addresses, so be thoughtful about how you use this data.

3. USE THE DATA TO BOOST TURNOUT!!! - Our whole goal is to help College Dems turn out students. So go forth and organize!

To do our work, we need states to publish voter data and make it available for relatively low cost.

Right now, we have college data to share for Pennsylvania and are working on New York and North Carolina. If you are curious about your state, shoot us an email.

Why should we trust you?

We appreciate that you may be hesitant about accepting the analysis or data of folks you haven't met before. As such, we attempt to be fully transparent about our process. If you are interested in this type of data, we will explain exactly how to generate this data at your university!
